DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT
The interconnection is foreseen to be built as a development to the existing connection of Bulgartransgaz EAD and Botas S.А. – Turkey systems by creating the technical opportunity for enabling bi-directional physical flow of natural gas between both systems. Thus a significantly greater security of gas supply to Bulgaria can be achieved, meeting the N-1 security standard and diversification of natural gas supply sources. P reliminary plans are for a staged project development. Currently design activities for the 20 km pipeline section, from CS Lozenets to Nedialsko are underway.

The project contributes directly to the diversification of gas sources: alternative gas producers - countries from the Caspian region, Turkish LNG terminals and Middle East.
