Gas covers over half of the fossils fuels used for power production. The use of fossil fuels remains a valuable source for flexibility, but has been slightly decreasing between 2009 and 2012, contributing to around 9% of total production. In the meantime, production from renewable sources has doubled under the fast development of solar and wind energy, reaching nearly 5% of the total production in 2012.
